Volunteer Social Media Strategist/Coordinator for a non-profit, 501c3 rescue, requires someone with a proven track record of developing social media strategies and positive results with excellent verbal/written communication skills.   Most importantly, must be easily accessible via email and text to respond to urgent rescue matters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Including, but not limited to: 

  • Social media strategy development and recommendations (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
  • Social media optimization
  • Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video and written)
  • Monitor, listen and respond to users in a “Social” way
  • Development of a rescue social plan in collaboration with marketing team
  • Daily & weekly social media execution(s)
  • Drive relationships with organizations, supporters, fosters, adopters, donors, individuals and thought leaders in the rescue space
  • Optimize posts on each platform for optimal engagement
  • Expand current social coverage to include Google+, YouTube, and others
  • Write, produce and distribute multiple posts to promote website content offerings, rescue  events, press releases, media coverage
  • Create content for Twitter Chats and blogs regarding rescue
  • Develop relationships with pertinent advocacy groups to engage with on social
  • Monthly Paid Social
  • Create social media posts for paid promotions, optimizing posts with specific tracking URLs and appropriate keyword tagging
  • SEO (search engine optimization) and generation of inbound traffic
  • Attend and promote events in real-time and assists stakeholders with social media publicity opportunities, including, but not limited to, Facebook Live events, Twitter chats, and live tweeting from events.
  • Reporting and Social Analytics
  • Contribute unique insights to attribute to successes and opportunities for improvement
  • Blogging – assist in drafting blog posts with Marketing Coordinator
  • Manage and monitor efforts in building online reviews and reputation.
  • Develop and expand community and/or influencer outreach efforts.
  • Ensure consistency of design across social channels (ie: Facebook Timeline cover, profile pic, thumbnails, ads, landing pages, Twitter profile, Blog, etc.).
  • As part of onboarding, become familiar with the rescue, and the messaging as well as overall rescue knowledge
