I know it can’t just be me, but lately I feel like makeup, makeup trends, gurus and all the “stuff” that goes along with these things is at an all time high. Obviously women have been wearing and buying makeup since the 1920s-1930s, but it’s 2018 now and makeup is for everyone. Who do we have to thank for that?
YouTube has been an incredible platform for people to share their love of not only makeup, but also luxury, fashion, videogames, truly anything and everything goes. However, speaking solely about the makeup community, YouTube has done an incredible job assisting in the huge, blooming industry and giving influencers a place to call home and be creative. Many of the makeup influencers, who by the way, their job is YouTube, have had astonishing followings and fan bases come with their success. With all these followers and admirers comes what any beauty guru aspires to attain, the PR packages, the collaborations with huge makeup conglomerates, and the dough.
I also think we have to thank YouTube for finally bringing us into the 21st century and giving EVERYONE the platform and the chance to do what they love regardless of the gender they associate with. As Patrick Starrr, a beauty guru, always says, “makeup is one size fits all!”
