I’m fully aware today is not Tuesday but the title was too cute to resist. I’m sure you’ve all been hearing about and anticipating the release of the Marvel film, Black Panther. Even though I’m definitely a DC fan (we can argue this later), I have been waiting for the release of this film for what seems like forever.
The story is set in the African nation of “Wakanda”, where newly named king, T’Challa (Black Panther), holds the fate of the nation in his hands. He and his allies must defeat their foes and bring safety to their people.
Black Panther is set to be released on February 16th, but is already being considered a success. Why is that? Well I can bet it has to do with the promotion of the film. Remember how I said it feels like I’ve been waiting forever for the release of this film? If not, refer to paragraph one, sentence three. Well the movie has been promoted since early last year. Its first Instagram post was July 11, 2017 with the first movie poster at the time. Since then the film’s account has accumulated 110,000 followers. That’s impressive. They’ve consistently posted posters, exclusive pictures, and preview clips on their Instagram account. They pretty much made it impossible to forget the film was coming out.
I, for one, surely did not forget and will be pre-purchasing my ticket ASAP!
