How “The 100” is Keeping Fans Entertained during the Hiatus

One of my all-time favorite shows is called “The 100”. It airs on The CW and is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated shows on television. The show starts in space, where everyone now lives due to a nuclear war on Earth. The residents on the space station, called the Ark, have lived in space their whole lives, with dreams of one day going back to Earth. Because of the dire situation surrounding the living situation, life on the Ark is extremely structured and strict. Every crime is punished by death unless one is under the age of 18. If someone under the age of 18 commits a crime, the are sent to a juvenile delinquent lock-up and reevaluated at the age of 18 to determine whether they are executed or allowed to reenter the population. The show follows Clarke Griffin, a juvenile delinquent, who, along with 99 others, is sent to Earth to see if it is livable because oxygen is running out on the Ark. Clarke and the other delinquents fine that although the Earth is livable, they aren’t the only humans on it.

The 100 has been airing for four seasons and the fifth is due to premiere in late April, 2018. This is a much larger gap between seasons than fans are used to. Usually, fans only have to wait a year between season premieres, but now, fans are having to wait an extra three to four months. The writers of The 100 and the executive producer, Jason Rothenberg, know that fans are not happy with the wait and have been using digital platforms, such as Twitter and Instagram to keep fans appeased until the premiere date. Jason Rothenberg has been releasing pictures from the set and snapshots of the trailer, which has yet to have been released. The following are examples of tweets from Jason Rothenberg.

Another Twitter account called “The 100 Writers Room” has been keeping fans entertained by releasing scripts from past episodes and retweeting much of what Jason Rothenberg has tweeted. The following is an example of a tweet from “The 100 Writers Room”:

Despite the sneak peaks from Jason Rothenberg and the release of past scripts, fans, including myself, are anxiously awaiting the premiere. First, though, I’d love for the trailer to be released. Per the first tweet in the post from Jason Rothenberg, the trailer is due sometime this month. Overall, the pain of the longer-than-usual hiatus between seasons has been eased by tweets from Jason Rothenberg and “The 100 Writers Room”.

“The 100” has been recommended to me by several friends and I have not yet started the series on Netflix. I have had a couple shows on my list of Netflix series but I may have to start this ahead of other series based on your enthusiasm and the well-known fan based. I didn’t really known the description of the series and I feel as though this would be something I would like. Great blog!
