The Cancer Foundation Social Media

Each week, I plan on diving into  an organization’s social media that is directed toward “Combating Cancer in the Digital Age.”

This week, I’m going to talk about The Cancer Foundation (TCF) of Northeast Georgia’s social media presence. Why pick this one first? Because I get the honor of running it this semester, along with a team of 4 other girls through the Institute of Leadership Advancement (ILA)! Last semester in ILA, we were assigned to assist this nonprofit organization in whatever way necessary, as determined by TCF employees and our team members. As a group, we decided to increase TCF’s social media presence by posting three times per week, developing patient testimonial videos and apply Google Analytics strategies to reach the maximum audience possible.

“The Cancer Foundation is a local 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides emergency financial assistance for basic life needs such as housing, utilities, food and medications, The ultimate goal of The Cancer Foundation is to provide emergency monetary assistance to cancer patients living in Northeast Georgia.” (TCF’s website)

The Cancer Foundation has never turned away a patient in emergency monetary need, and they tirelessly serve those less fortunate living in the Northeast Georgia area. This organization is a strong power for change and love, so I am honored to serve them throughout the semester. My teammates and I are hoping that our social media efforts through Facebook and Instagram will attract more donors, therefore providing more money to those in need. Below are a few posts we’ve made so far! PLEASE go follow these accounts to help us out!
