We established that my name is not in fact Tara but Tara is my more exciting persona therefore Tara will be doing all these activities while Taarini does her schoolwork and goes to sleep.

Currently on “Tara is Doing Something”

So for the past couple years I have followed Tasty on Facebook. For those of you who don’t religiously follow food pages like I do, Tasty is a Buzzfeed company. It is a two year old, digital, food specific, content producing, powerhouse quickly taking over the world. They produce a wide array of “how- to cook X” videos for people to cook at home. They have furthered themselves into different segments such as vegetarians, vegans, health-conscious people, working people, and most impressively, different ethnicities. They are expanding into physical products with their Tasty Cookbooks, and their very well reviewed “One-Top” cooking stove.

This past week I downloaded their Tasty app (thanks to the prompting of their Facebook page) and scanned through it and settled on cooking a tofu stir-fry (in what should have been) under 30 minutes.

While I am not going to comment on the quality of my stir-fry (because it was honestly sub-par) I will comment on the quality of the app.

It was truly a great experience. Their app is easy to follow, the flow is very natural, the visuals are mouth- watering, and they do a fabulous job promoting their physical products. The best feature was the “step-by-step” breakdown of their recipes. They break their cooking videos into segments and it will play on repeat until you are ready to move to the next step. The only downside to this is that you need to swipe with your fingers, which at times are covered with food. Maybe in the future they can put in an option to kind of voice command your way through cooking.

I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a little variety in their cooking, but especially to people who are new cooks (like myself) or just starting out.

I have not decided what I will be doing next week but stay tuned for a very exciting update on whatever  I decide to do.

peace n’ bessings
