This week, I am going to highlight an organization very special to me. UGA Relay for Life has an extremely strong social media presence in hopes to attract students to register for and attend numerous smaller events on campus in preparation for the Relay For Life all night event in April.
Along with tabling events to promote the club and give out food and stickers, Relay for Life utilizes social media to reach a broad range of students throughout the school year. Like The Cancer Foundation, Relay for Life uses trends on Instagram and Facebook, such as #SurvivorSunday and #WhyWeRelay. These repetitive themed posts, as well as consistent design, project a clear brand image and constant top-of-mind presence.
In addition to the consistent posts, Relay for Life uses social media to promote events such as Relay for Life Hawks Night, Nightmare on Clayton Street, Relay for Life 5K and many others. This allows for the event information to reach an audience larger than only club members, and it promotes a constant togetherness and unity.
This club means so much to me, and I cannot wait for the main event in April!
