Atlanta Brewing Co.

Atlanta Brewing Co. formerly known as Red Brick Brewing (2010) formerly known as Atlanta Brewing Co. (ABC) began in 1993 as the first craft brewery in Georgia. Just recently Red Brick changed its name back to Atlanta Brewing Co. Located in Atlanta, ABC has had its ups and down but it appears thanks to the loosening of the law, some internal changes, and a flourishing economy things are looking up.

Craft breweries typically don’t have a large advertising budget and digital is a great way for them to make moves whether it be generating original content or paid sponsorship. So, let’s dive deeper into their digital campaign.

Beginning with a google search it appears they didn’t park their old handle on Instagram of Atlanta Brewing Co. and some kind person made sure to grab it. This now presents an issue that they will have to solve. As of now they have officially rebranded, but their instagram doesn’t represent that.

Quick look at their page as I imagine the content will likely stay the same. Their pictures mostly consist of product and some kind of association to drinking and or a setting. For instance, a beer by the pool or a “Happy Valentines Day” message. I’m not seeing a good 80/20 ration in their posts. It appears they are either all about the product or all about the day. The mix here could be greatly improved.

Their facebook page appears very event based. I think this is a good tactic to get people out to the breweries for events and allow a large number of people to view the event and share it.

I am seeing a weakness in their digital marketing overall. It doesn’t appear too much time is dedicated toward this area. I can’t judge whether or not they are spending money with sponsored ads. I would imagine they are spending money around the brewery.

I wonder if you called them, if you could see who’s in charge of their social media and see why they aren’t spending considerable time and effort to make their social media presence a forefront of their company. I like the weakness that you analyzed and think it could definitely be expanded upon!

There definitely seems to be an issue with having different handles for different social media accounts. I would imagine this would confuse customers and decrease consumer’s willingness to engage. I think Instagram presents a great opportunity for exposure for a craft brewery, so the IG handle needs to change in order to successfully continue rebranding.
