If you are anything like me, you are BEYOND excited that TGIT is back! Though Scandal did not get renewed, I am still obsessed with Grey’s Anatomy and How to Get Away with Murder. I’ve seen promotions and advertisements for the television premieres for the last week and a half. This season’s TGIT is kicking off with a two-hour Grey’s Anatomy premiere followed by HTGAWM. However, this will not be the normal schedule throughout the fall television line-up. Typically, on Thursdays, Grey’s Anatomy will be at 8pm, Station 19 at 9pm, and How to Get Away with Murder at 10pm.Station 19 premiered last spring after Scandal’s series finale. This show is supposed to be a spin-off show for Ben Warren, former resident at Grey Sloan Memorial, who decided he wanted to be a firefighter instead. However, this show is not centered around his character.
As I mentioned earlier, I have seen many promotions, advertisements, and teasers for Grey’s Anatomy and HTGAWM. However, i’ve found a bit odd that I’ve seen zero promotions for Station 19. This show is the newest, and I would think it’d require a lot more promotion, so it has been surprising to see the difference. I’ve wondered if this has had anything to do with the fact that I haven’t watched Station 19 nearly as much, and maybe marketers are targeting those promotions toward me, or if there is some planned advertising campaign for Station 19 coming soon. Nonetheless, I am sure Shondaland and all its glory will have a successful fall season.
Grey’s Anatomy and HTGAWM will premiere September 27th. Station19 does not return into the lineup until October 4th.
