I have always been a sucker for some good ole celebrity gossip, and I have discovered a new obsession. The Blinds. This is a website is run by a single individual and they post what is sent to them. Once it is posted, entertainment lawyers who frequently check the site contact the man in charge and confirm the gossip. This to me is the most legitimate form of celebrity gossip I have yet to find. Like I said, I am a sucker for the gossip, but every single thing I read on The Blinds I take to be the upmost truth.
Awards shows really make for some juicy gossip and get the site going hot. After the Emmy’s the site was blowing up with new posts. From gossip about who should have gotten certain awards, after party drama and new flings or affairs. All of this drama got me so excited to read all the new posts. And I know I wasn’t the only one, all of my roommates were reading with me. So I can only imagine how many other people were so excited to indulge in all the Emmy drama and gossip.
This raises the question, why does this website carry the weight it does while other sites don’t? What makes a large portion of people check daily to see the new postings? It is incredible that a site like this can have the impact that it does to such a diverse and large group of people. Do people just love the gossip and knowing that these celebrities are humans too? Or is there something more to the rampant successes of The Blinds and sites just like it?
