eHarmoney – for Jobs?

Last night I attended the UGA Marketing Career Fair, where 20 companies came out to meet dozens of UGA Marketing students. The first company I talked to was the one that stood out to me the most. I was discussing their interview and hiring process with their head of HR, but what he was telling me was unlike anything I had ever heard of.
His company, apparently along with several others, use a compatibility website to choose who moves on to get an interview. He explained it to be similar to eHarmony – the potential employee takes a test on this website, and then their results are immediately sent back to the company. If your results suggest that you would be compatible with the needs, culture, and ethics of the company, then you will get the opportunity to move forward in their interview process.
This is type of social network is something that I had never heard of before, and I have mixed feelings about it. But, then again, if it works for dating, why couldn’t it work for finding a job?

I honestly think this is a great idea. There will, of course, be people who try to put the “best” answer and research the company in order to see what they are looking for. But best case scenario, it will save the company and the prospect the time and energy of working in a environment that does not fulfill their needs.
