IHOP has already managed to be the topic of discussion this year, but can they do it again? Earlier this year IHOP created an equally interesting and annoying campaign to promote their burgers. IHOb raised a lot of controversy initially, and eventually died down after being treated like a meme. Now that this is over, they are onto their next stunt and this time it involves the beer industry.
IHOP is promoting their new publicity stunt that involves fall themed beer coined “IHOPS.” They posted a short instagram video that gave a teaser of the upcoming product line. The post was somewhat vague and urged viewers to go to their website for more information. The comments all seemed to be positive so hopefully this marketing stunt will cause more positive reactions than the previous. This beer will be a pumpkin pancake stout available through October in the New York tri state area through October.
This campaign doesn’t seem like it will ruffle as many feathers as its predecessor, IHOb, did but maybe it will create some buzz around their brand and generate more business. Who knows, maybe IHOPS will be this year’s unicorn frappuccino?
