Creature Comforts is All About Saving Mother Nature

Creature Comfort’s has to be one of the most popular local Athens companies, especially with the large college community that resides here throughout the school year. One thing that you should know about this company is they are not only a popular brewery, but they are also very involved in their local community. One way in which they market themselves is by implementing sustainability in their business processes and using local art for their brand designs and products.

In June 2018, Creature Comforts launched Get Artistic, a nonprofit community outreach program as well as beer. The beer is inspired by the ever-present art gallery reception tipple, white wine. It’s brewed with Sauvignon Blanc grape juice and its launch involved art-related activities, including exhibitions, performances, and events.

Backing up the brewery name, Creature Comforts wants to keep critters, and the planet, happy. In addition to throwing an Earth Party in April, the brewery has sustainability at its core. Their snazzy cans are packaged in 100% recyclable material; 100% of the water used to chill wort in the brewery is reused as brewing water; and the brewery donates 100% of its spent grain to a local farmer to feed livestock.

I love Creature Comforts for many reasons. It has the best location of all of the breweries in the Athens area, it’s an open and spacious building, and the vibes are always happy and upbeat. I didn’t realize that they started this Get Artistic program, but it’s just another reason for me to love the company so much. It’s so important for businesses to display their corporate social responsibility of protecting our environment and this is such an easy and efficient way of doing so.
