I chose to watch The Intern because it seemed like a cute and fun movie that reminded me somewhat of my grandparents, but also my parents. The concept of the movie is such a good idea and a nice way to show the technology gap between generations. I loved getting to watch this movie and would highly recommend.
Some things that I learned from this film are how the older generations view technology and also their opinions about how we, the younger generations, use it. It was refreshing to see because my grandparents are always trying to stay up to date and learn the newest technologies, but there are also people who don’t have to do that. They are fine being set in their past ways and are learning to work together with the technology trends not necessarily joining them.
This film has impacted my views on marketing in one major way which is that it is necessary to understand the gaps between generations and their uses and comfort with technology. While digital and mobile campaigns are the way to the future, it is still important to remember that there are generations that are not as comfortable with technology. It is the job of the marketer to understand this and know which of their target audiences are tech savvy and which are not.
