Around Athens: MBUS Program hosts end of semester festival

In today’s culture, new music festivals are popping up everywhere. You have Coachella out west, Bonnaroo to the east, and a whole lot of options in between. Where do you go for the best musical experience at the best cost?

Luckily, I’m here to share about a music festival here in Athens! Formally, different groups of students in the music business program would play an all-day festival in May, showcasing the music they music made in the previous semester. However this year, the Not So Mayday Festival will be held on April 28th instead of its usual May premiere. Held at The Foundry, this festival will have indie rock, country, hip/hop, EDM and singer/songwriter acts which serves a wide audience of listeners. Some of Athens most well-known bands will be playing as well as some new, younger artists. Be sure to celebrate the close to a good semester by supporting your talented friends and peers at the Not So Mayday Parade.

I’m in the Music Business program, and even though I’m not directly working on the music festival, I’m excited to attend and see who all is playing!

Helped organize this show last year, and played in it the two years before that.. it is always a BLAST! Everyone should come check out the upcoming and established artists.
