Since Late 2017, a five person culinary team has been setting the table in various locations in Athens for pop-up dinners. These aren’t just any dinners mind you, these are carefully curated plates paired with incredibly tasty and wildly creative cocktails. For instance, at the last pop up I enjoyed the “Mama Coco” which is a “London dried gin, citric acid coconut water, toasted coconut, lil’ bit of habeñero” and let me tell you, it was a knockout.
The Side Hustle is a community and charity based food and beverage project. The five person team divides labor and conquers Athens’ foodie crowds while raising funds for various causes. While Pete, John and Kenny are in the kitchen, Ally runs the bar, and Maddie runs plates and coordinates service. This Athens based cool and caring team is not messing around. They collectively have loads of culinary experience coming from local fine dining staples such as The National and Sea Bear Oyster bar.
These pop-ups are inspiringly cool events. Every pop-up raises funds for charitable organizations, such as Nuçi’s space and others. The last pop-up raised money for 86hate ( @86hate ) an organization that seeks to provide service workers with health resources, and build community wellness. If you haven’t been to one of these pop-ups, treat your taste buds and your community by coming to the next one on March 14th at Little Kings Shuffle Club.
