It’s a fascinating time to work in marketing. It’s also a somewhat dizzying time, with so much change happening around us. The world is becoming more digital every day, steadily reshaping relationships between customers and businesses in the process.
The Digital Marketing area of emphasis in the Terry College of Business at UGA allows students to gain in-depth knowledge of how to use digital marketing in a business context.
Digital marketing is an umbrella term for marketing using digital technologies on the internet, mobile phones, display advertising, and other digital mediums.
You’ll study topics essential to marketing in today’s environment such as Social Media Strategy, Search Marketing (SEO/PPC), Content Marketing, Influencer and Conversion Marketing. Emphasis is on the use of analytics and data inform best practices.
In order to complete the Area of Emphasis in Digital Marketing you must take the following courses and complete the following activities:
- MARK 4600 Integrated Marketing and Brand Communication
- MARK 4450 Social Media Marketing Strategy
- MARK 4650 Digital Marketing Analytics
- MARK 4800 Internship in Digital Marketing
or departmental approved and verified work experience and one additional 4000-5999 level MARK course not counted elsewhere for the marketing major.
ADPR 5760: Digital and Social Communication Strategies
- Completion of digital marketing speaker series offered in the fall
- Participation in digital marketing competition offered in the spring
Completion of these requirements will result in recognition on the student’s official transcript.
Declare the Area of Emphasis
To declare Digital Marketing as your Area of Emphasis, you must be enrolled as a Marketing Major in the Terry College of Business and in academic good standing. Contact your academic advisor Laura Richardson or Jason Booth during the enrollment period to officially join the program.
